Yes, yes, yes!!! I only write, as I've said on several occasions, because the Lord asked me to write for Him. Therefore, I do not write for myself. How could I tell Him no???For me, it has to be: by the leading of King Jesus. I am His servant more than anything else. The revelations via His Holy Spirit and the testimonies from being in Christ for over 40 years: those are not "gifted" to me for monetary gain but for the edification of the Body of Christ.
Forgive me if that sounds too "Christianese" for some; but, that is the only way I can put it. I am very much aware of the fact that everything I do must reflect that element of servanthood. I work for Him not for myself.
1) Ummm...not always
- Stubbornness and a drive to succeed. Many writers face rejection, criticism, and self-doubt, but they do not give up on their passion and vision. They have a strong sense of self-worth and confidence in their abilities.
- Perseverance, patience, and attention to detail. Writing is a long and complex process that requires dedication, discipline, and resilience. Writers have to overcome challenges, revise their work, and polish their craft until they are satisfied with the quality and impact of their words.
- Consistency and the ability to meet deadlines. Writers have to balance their creative impulses with the practical demands of the publishing industry. They have to set realistic goals, manage their time, and deliver their work on schedule.
- A healthy ego. Writers need to have a sense of pride and ownership over their work, as well as the courage to express their opinions and perspectives. They also need to be able to handle feedback, criticism, and rejection without losing their motivation or identity.
- Faith and hope. Writers have to believe in themselves and their vision, even when others do not. They have to trust their intuition, imagination, and inspiration, and hope that their work will resonate with readers and make a difference in the world.
- Humility and gratitude. Writers have to acknowledge that they are not perfect, that they can always learn from others, and that they depend on the support and collaboration of many people. They have to appreciate the opportunities, resources, and recognition that they receive, and give back to the community that nurtures them.
