We are misunderstood.
The people who walk quietly.
Nonetheless, we have a message—
We have been left behind by society.
Left to fend for ourselves.
Left to our own devices.
Left to survive on peanuts.
It’s hard to even find a church that will consider us.
We rely upon non profit organizations-
Ministries that can’t always provide-
And, sometimes a free meal if we can find one.
Many of us are totally innocent.
We hold multiple jobs.
We have children to support.
Yet, we still need help.
Now the country that once offered help—
Has chosen to take it away.
But what is even worse—
The way this is being celebrated.
It would do so much more to remember this—
Jesus gave his life for the less fortunate—
Just as he gave it for the more fortunate.
In His eyes, there is no difference.
We are the unsung heroes.
