Blog Praying for Revival

' Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is valued as a forest. [Ps. 104:30; Ezek. 36:26, 27; 39:29; Zech. 12:10.]'

Isaiah 32:15 Amplified Bible Classic

I have been praying for revival, as I think many of us have been. We can see how our nation is in turmoil, and those of us who walk with the Lord can clearly see where the problem lies. Far too many of us have gone our own way and are not looking to the cross as our beacon. We must have revival; we must see Him as our greatest need. We need many things to get things right, but I has to start with Him!

My understanding of some of the great revivals of the past came about simply because God poured out His Spirit on a people, as this verse in view describes; revivals only happen this way. God pours out His spirit upon a large area, not as a dew or a light sprinkle, but as a rushing torrent that fills a place with His presence. This is what we need today, in our country, and in our world, moreover! James tells us,

' Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. Elijah was a human being with a nature such as we have [with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours]; and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell on the earth for three years and six months. [I Kings 17:1.]'

We need a spiritual Rain to pour out from above, so let us all pray all the more diligently that God would rain His Spirit down upon our land, and with it bring the peace that comes from righteousness.

' And the effect of righteousness will be peace [internal and external], and the result of righteousness will be quietness and confident trust forever.'

Isaiah 32:17 Amplified Bible Classic.

So join me in this prayer today, and every day until we see it come to pass! This post is not lip service. This post is a call to action for everyone who reads it! I once read that we should pray for our enemies every day for 30 days, and that in doing so, we can expect to see tremendous results. Well, if we ask our Lord every day for 30 days to pour out his spirit upon our land, I think we can expect to see some significant things happen as well. So let's all do this every day for the next month, and see how our God responds to our call! Today, I have made this prayer —join me. Let's make the next 30 days a call for revival.
