Prayer Request Prayers for those in the community

There have been string of tragic events in the last several years here, some of them ending the lives of young individuals, often in their teens and twenties. Some months ago three boys were driving at ridiculous speeds and wound up in an accident. Miraculously, all of them lived. However, one was paralysed from the neck down. Just received word he now has cancer and is not expected to live more than a few days at the most. As far as we know, he has not accepted Jesus.

Meanwhile, one of the other boys in that wreck (who escaped with some bruises and scrapes) in struggling as he is facing losing yet another best friend.

Others in the community have found themselves in similar situations in the past few years, one boy breaking his back two years in a row and losing two best friends in the previous years.

This spring, high school grad crashed into a tree and passed away.

This is aside from suicided and other such deaths. In general, there seems to be a destructive spirit wrecking havoc in the community. A lot of people, young and old alike, have passed away, leaving even more hurts behind.

Could really use prayer for healing in the community.

I have no idea what that even is. There are quite a lot of churches in the region, but I have enough trouble keeping up with what's going on at my own church, lol.

A Blue Christmas service is designed for people who are struggling with grief or problems beyond their control. It's intended to comfort, but it still conveys the message that God is with us through the birth of the Son. It's often held on December 21, the longest night of the year. Very likely some church in your community is having one. Google it for where you live.

Lynae - that is a heavy providence. I was praying just now for those in your community who are hurting. Sometimes there are these clusters of tragedies in a community that make you wonder what God is doing. In the face of tragedy, we continue to trust in God's sovereign plan and his great wisdom and mercy. May the Holy Spirit provide the necessary strength.
