I was in a short telephone call with my best friend a short time ago. She related to me about what happened in Mayfield, Kentucky.  A tornado  made a There swath of 200 miles across the sate. There  was a candle factory that was hit. Second shift people were working. The authorities believe there could be 100-200 lives lost. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE TOWN AND FOR THE  FAMILIES.

Thank you, QS. I meant to post this earlier but got sidetracked. Mayfield is about 3 hours south of us. This huge storm pillaged a swath across Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, and possibly one other state. The tornado that hit Mayfield was on the ground for 200 miles. There were around 26 other tornadoes at the same time. Another town of 2600 in KY was leveled. The factory in Mayfield had about 100+ working on late shift. There are at least 70 dead there so far. It's total devastation. Cars have been picked up and thrown everywhere. The tornado knocked over train cars including the engine. Just awful. Thank you all for your prayers. ❤️

I've just finished watching the Evening News.  I've seen just how horrible and widespread the death and destruction from the tornados has been.

The remains of the storm have begun passing over the New York Metropolitan Area, where I live on Long Island.  There shouldn't be any severe damage around here, except for electrical outages.

While I thank the Lord for keeping us safe in this region, I also join in with everyone's prayers, for those who've suffered greatly, in the regions where there was severe destruction.

I also wonder, after seeing all the evil and corruption that has been going on in this Country, is this a Judgement of God?

Lord have mercy!  In Jesus Name.  Amen.

I often have the same thought. I really don't know. Those who were working in that factory had no idea that they would not make it home last night. When our son was in high school, I started going to a church about a half mile from our home. I started telling our son and later my husband that I loved them every time they went out the door.  Now, I tell our son the same message at the end of every phone call. Just before hubby and I retire for the night, we tell each other, "Good night, I love you."  We never know what will happen while we are away from home or what can happen as we sleep.

The Father already showed his judgement by heaping all the sins of His people onto Jesus on that cross. There is only one way this turns out -- He will have Himself a people who will love Him and enjoy Him forever. And for those who will never become His people, that same wrath that landed on Jesus on that cross lands on them forever.

America is not our country. This world is not our land. We are sojourners passing through and telling all the other prisoners of sin that the One loves us so much that He unlocked our cell door, freed us judiciously, and adopted us into His family. He found us. We pray for His mercy and grace for those confused people trying to figure out what to do next in that terrible block of tornados.

Because of that there are but two families His and Not His. Some of those people Who died are His and already with Him. No more sorrow. No more tears. Some who just lost everything are His. And some are not. God is sovereign even when we're staring at the funnel of a tornado, when the sea bites chunks out of the land, when a doctor says, "I'm sorry," and when our body degrades slowly, or quickly. And it is always, always for our good and His glory.

He promised. (Rom. 8:28)

I've been praying!

One of my friends was at a hotel with some of her friends when the tornado warning went off at four in the morning. They had to run to the basement and stay there for the next thirty minutes until they were told it was safe. They went back up to their room.

Thirty minutes later, they had to run back downstairs and wait again since a tornado was headed right for them. But they were fine by God's grace. 🙂

Oh, also, could we all also pray for Bowling Green as well? That city was hit extremely hard as well... 😞

I have friends with a large family there. No electricity, plumbing, and in one case. they're interior had an extra plant -- a tree.

Family is okay. Fortunately, Grandma had an accident the next day that landed her in the hospital, (where they have electricity and can deal with bathroom requirements.)

The bad news is an aunt an uncle used to have an antique store. It is, literally, a pile of bricks. (I'm amazed the bricks are in a pile on the property. Considering the wind that can destroy a building, why couldn't it carry off bricks?)

Sounds like many business are gone, and gone for good.

My husband and I continue to pray; may the good Lord watch over everyone.

Sorry I'm so late replying to this.  I'll be praying for the many people and families who are trying to get back on their feet after this disaster, and for those who lost loved ones as well.

That also reminds me of two other people I can think of... a couple by the names of Charity and Andrew (don't know the last name). Their five-month-old was found dead..
