I'm just curious what prayer or words do you speak before your day begins or ends? I often say, Psalm 118: 24: "This is the day which the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it." Or, i might say, John 14: "Let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God. Believe also in me." These two verses really help me in the morning and at night. Very calming and reassuring. What are your favorites?

It isn't a formal prayer, but sometime before I get up, I often sing (Not aloud.  I think the words.)  I silently sing spiritual songs.  They're usually "I will glorify the Lord".  "A Closer Walk With Thee."  "I Have Decided to Follow Jesus."  Then I complete it with the Lord's prayer. singing, "Our Father Who Art in Heaven...".

I also silently sing the same songs at night.  After I get under the covers.

memorization is not my strong suit. Usually I wake up with a song in my head that helps keep my sanity. I think God brings these songs to me to help fill my thoughts that tend to race, with his goodness instead. To help me start my day better.

I have old hymns stacked in my memory back that ear worm themselves all day long.

I often hymn myself to sleep at night, sometimes one letter of the alphabet at a time. Anyone know any hymn titles starting with the letter "Q"?

Pretty simple for me.

Lord, provide patience, clarity and strength. Please Lord don't let me mess up and I ask your forgiveness and guidance when I do. Amen.

Those are wonderful words, Quietspirit. Enjoying another day is such a gift!

I try to remember to pray the Lord's Prayer, as a blueprint, everyday. Although, sometimes I do forget. :(

What I do is nothing special–I just pray in a very conversational way.

I think, Johne, that is one of the best things to do before starting the day. The good Lord wants so much to communicate with us--one on one--What better way than to pray in conversation? Like the old Frasier series, when Frasier answered a call for help he said, "I'm listening." So, is the good Lord.
