Meets & Greets Not a writer, but I write

Hi,

My name is Rick Abelseth. After working in the Petroleum industry for nearly forty years I just recently retired and now don't know what to do with myself. I sat down at my laptop a couple of weeks ago and started to write what was on my mind. I have no one to dialogue with but I am very concerned with the state of everything in society and how these things are impacting Christians and the Church. I have been a saved believer for over forty years, and I lead worship in a small evangelical church.  

I am not a writer, but for some reason, I am now possessed to write, if for no other reason than to get this off my chest. I am not interested in writing for money, but I would like to have someone to proofread my writing, and or dialogue with. 

Am I at the correct place to begin that process?

I suppose I need direction from here. I'm not sure how those file types would be used for text.

Ok, thanks for the welcome. I will seek to make myself at home and browse around. 

You know there are times when we all want to get some feedback on thoughts. If I say something, I am not in fear of harsh criticism. Regardless of how I feel and write, I have no intention of offending anyone. I just want some resolution. Some of these thoughts are so daunting that I feel as if it would console me to either have someone validate or condemn my thought process. In the meantime, I can also see what others are thinking and saying.

Welcome Richard!

I would say you ARE a writer. You just aren't an "author", "commentator", "columnist", "blogger" or "journalist" at the moment. That's my own distinction between writing stuff and having it published for sale in some form.  

Don't worry, you'll either get there if you keep at it and feel moved to go forward, or at least for your own sanity, you will have written.  Nothing wrong with any of that.
