In the secret place of confining love He speaks to the waiting heart, the expectant heart, the yielded heart, the pliable heart and yet maybe He will not speak today, nevertheless His eyes are forever looking for hearts such as these. Hi Rob, thank you for your comment and encouragement, I remember when SOAKING was a trend in the church and found myself unable to do what all were attempting to make happen. I prefer to wait on the Holy Spirit as you say resting.
 
Soaking is still a thing, just search for "soaking worship" on youtube and you'll find many authors creating music for this practice. You are correct! Soaking is not about making something happen--that's coming with an agenda. You have captured the idea well.

Music is not necessary, of course. It just washes out background noise and helps the mind stay focused. The hardest part about soaking is quieting the mind, which wants to wander and ponder stressful stuff going on in life. Music helps me stay focused and mentally quiet. When Holy Spirit engages with me during these times, it's like the music fades away.

I have to choose music that is not some rendition of a song I know, or my mind will follow the song and its words will run through my head, and thus distract me from being quiet (mentally and emotionally).
 
Hi appreciate your reply, I have been a strong believer for many years, pastor, preacher and prophet, forgive me if I seem proud but been through all the church advise and programmes, and have come to understand when there is no anointing through the Holy Spirit all is just the work of the soul. It is great you have found what works for you. I don't consult with utube or any media but whatever works for wherever the believer is in their walk for with Him. I suppose at my age it is not about me, it ia all about Him. Blessings
