Hello!
I'm new to the group, and I wanted to say hi! I'm still learning the website, so I'm sorry if I'm making a duplicate Intro threat/post thing.

Anyway, my name is Andii. I used to write for a while, but I would always jump straight to editing without finishing my draft. It got discouraging honestly, so I quit. I also don't think it honored God, so that's another reason why I stopped. I used to write fantasy romance.

Lately, I've felt called to write Christian works - something that does honor God. I'm currently working on a Christian romance about a girl learning to trust God again. I'm having so much fun with it, and I'm forcing myself to get everything out and THEN go back and edit. lol

I am on Scribophile, but I wanted to find a more Christian-tailored community where I can meet like-minded folk. I would love to eventually share my work, but my main goal now is just to fellowship and grow.

I look forward t reading your work. Thanks for having me!

I heard that supposedly when you flip your pencil over to erase, it disrupts the creativity in your brain. Not sure how accurate that is, but trying to edit before you have anything to edit can be discouraging and make progress take way longer.

Oh I have never heard that before, but that makes so much sense! Either way, I like to believe God has me where He wants me to be.

Well, ya know, Lynae... While I'll often wish that Life came with an eraser, I suppose your comment applies to a lot of things...

I seem to make my best progress with my eyes aimed steadily forward. No more wishin' for that eraser...

I would start in the Old Testament and look at how the couples in the Bible communicated their love for one another with more than just words. Was there anywhere in the text where the Bible says that "She loved him," or "He loved her," or was it just something that the reader "understood" from context?

Whenever I try to read passages in the Song of Songs, I find myself blushing and not really being able to finish it. Solomon has been credited with writing it, but it has always been a mystery as to which one of the women in his life inspired it. King Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines, so....take your pick!

AC, trust me, I am not trying to tell you how to go about it. Here, at CW, we respect each other's unique way of writing in whatever genre. No one can tell your stories better than you. Agreed?

In skating our 'eraser' is to go get a drink of water. Sometimes that helps reset if you're stuck on something. At least, that's the superstition.

Yeah, somehow taking marriage advice from someone with 1,000 women... that sounds like the saying about don't ask a fat person how to lose weight. I've heard some try to say that she was "the one" and the others were just because of politics, but...

Yeah! I got to thinking, and I'd say it's more contemporary romance (100% clean and wholesome). My FMC has dealt with a lot of loss in her life. Her late grandmother gifted her a Bible and did her best to teach her about God. Now that she's on her own she's learning how to trust God and have faith without her around. She does that with the help of the MMC - whom she meets later on. It's a slow burn romance (if I had to give it a trope).

I agree with your comment about Solomon though. I always enjoyed reading his story, but it was definitely harder to get through without blushing. However, it always gives me a new appreciation for my husband when I read it.

I really appreciate your thoughts. I enjoyed reading your post, and I like your ideas too.

I know, right? And, when a man has 700 wives, why in the world would he need 300 concubines? We know that the LORD gave Solomon unlimited wisdom to rule Israel, riches, and honor. (1st Kings 3:13) But, what should have been included was a pair of blinders and the shutters on his windows nailed shut. Covetousness and lust usually come from eyes that can't seem to get enough "candy". 'Just sayin'

Thanks! I think it'll be handy if I can find reliable folk to give me feedback on the Christian aspects of my book when the time comes. I want it to honor God without feeling forced or preachy.

FMC? MMC? LOL! Thank you for your compliments. In the past, because I am, also, a Titus 2 "Older woman" in Christ, the Lord gave me the honor of walking alongside a few younger generation wives and mothers. It taught me a lot.
