Has anyone ever used Fivver for beta readers, feedback, editing, or anything else? If so, what was your experience? Are there any places like this for Christian beta readers/editors? I know Jeff Gerke (the guy that founded Enclave Publishing, formerly Marcher Lord Press) had something similar that was focussed on editing.

I wouldn't touch Fivver with a ten-foot pole for anything. Anyone who is serious about their craft isn't there, leaving only people who are going to mess with you. You get what you pay for.
Why would you pay for a beta reader anyway? That's what a fan base/tribe is for.
There is a place to find Christian editors, but they aren't going to be cheap unless they're brand new.

Fivver had it's day,.. a long time ago. I agree it's a poor place to find anything resembling honest talent.

I found some of my best beta readers on this site. CritiqueMatch.com is another good place to start.

I have used them for book marketing and Facebook advertisement. Being a rookie using their service, I was surprised by their transparency. It is relatively inexpensive and I was able to monitor and coordinate the process. It is worth a try! You canyour focus either international market or American market or etc., . My book genre is christian, nonfiction and prophecy based as well inspirational and is available on Amazon and I've been able to garner 18 reviews and is titled Seven Letters Detailing the Prophetic Framework of Christ return under Gregory Booker. Hope that helps ? Blessings on your adventure. It is creditable and I will use again.

Well, the reason is that I really don't have anyone else or know anyone. I strictly don't let friends or family (with the exception of my husband) read my work. I used to know of a great writing community, but that site went away. I tried a well-known group, but that was useless. All they did was push emails, there was literally nothing but email announcements and a few articles. There was no way to connect. I've had a couple of experiences trading chapters, but people get busy and it's rare that that has worked out. I also have never published anything before, so a fan base is completely non-existent. What I'm trying to do is find some feedback as a starting place to see how my stories are received. My budget is very small, but I'm saving for an edit (from a professional) once I know the story is on track. Punctuation is not my strongest point lol. All in all, I'm looking for a starting point.

I'm a member of Critique Match, although it has been some time since I've been online.

I had a hard time getting any response to a request and the two I did trying to get a little recognition was not fulfilling. They wanted more specific than I could give, and I hard to read something I really didn't care for.

I hope it works out for you.
