I'm unable to use my EBT Food Stamp Card. A few days ago, at the local supermarket, I tried to check out, using the card. I was sure I'd put in the right pin number, but it wouldn't go through. I tried again a few times, but now my account is blocked. I am unable to pay for food that way, until I get a new card. I tried getting a new one, using the internet, which was just very confusing. I'm advised to call a certain phone number, to get all the help I need. The problem with that is that I'd be put on hold, and have to wait for someone to answer, which could take hours.
This morning, in the Senior Citizen Community where I live, someone from the New York State Office of the Aging, showed up for his monthly visit. I went to speak to him about the problem. He wrote down my name, address, and other information. Then he spoke to someone over his cellphone. That took him 20 minutes to get through.
Then he told me that it will take from 7 to 12 days for me to receive a new card in the mail. Then to get the card activated, I'll have to make a phone call.
Please pray for me, so that I'll have all the patience, and everything else I'll need from the Lord. I'm also asking for advice from any of my friends here on christianwriters.com, who are correctly informed about situations like this.
I ask in Jesus Name. Amen.

I'm sorry, William, for this. Praying the Lord straightens this out for you quickly. 🙏
Thank you Lynn. I'm also praying for the Lord to straighten this out. Not only quickly, but as simply and comfortably as possible. The Bible says, "Be still and behold what the Lord will do. Blessed are those who trust in Him."
In Jesus Name. Amen.

I received my new card in the mail this morning. Now I can stop living on the edge, and go back to living in modest comfort. I've read the information that came with the card. It looks like it's already activated. So I won't have to make a phone call, and be put on hold for who knows how long. When I go to the Stop & Shop tomorrow morning, I won't have any problem using the card.
However I'm not sure about the pin number. When I spoke to the man from Office of the Aging last week, I think I might have told him that I'd like a new pin number, and what that number would be, but I'm not sure.
When I go to the check out, I'll use my old pin number once. If it doesn't go through, I won't try again. I'll pay for the food items, using my banking debit card, as I have been doing since this problem started. Then, whether I like it or not, I'll have to make a phone call and be put on hold.
I ask for prayers that everything will work out, without any more difficulties. In Jesus Name. Amen.

I'm not sure the pin number will work if you asked for a new one. Praying it works. Glad it's pretty much settled.

When you activate a card, it usually brings up an automatic response that may or may not simply ask for your name and/or number. You're not likely to be put on hold because you will not be speaking to a person.

I've been looking at my new card, reading the microscopic information with a magnifying glass, and found that I don't have to make a phone call. I found that I can go on-line, and be given the new pin number. I logged on, and gave my name, and e-mail address. Then I was informed that the information I'd just given was incorrect, which it wasn't. Now I can't go any further.
Now I'm afraid that if I do make a phone call, and then be put on hold for who knows how long, I might still be told the same thing.
I'm still looking for advice and prayers, along with grace and mercy from the Lord.
In Jesus Name. Amen.

I don't know about the area you are in. If it's possible. Please call your local county Food Bank. they can and will assist you. Please please call as well, your local churches and ask about their assistance. I know my church offers ministries for situations as yours.

My heart goes out to you.

Praying for you.

God Bless

Teresa

I finally made a phone call, and wasn't put on hold. I received a recorded message advising me to put in numbers that are found on the card. I did, and my ID was accepted. After that everything was just too confusing. I still couldn't activate the card, or find out the pin number.
I still ask for continued prayers, this time that someone at the Church I attend tomorrow morning, will be able to give me all the assistance I need. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Keep looking. There's a phone number that connects to a real human being. And people here don't know how your card works. You need to talk to people who do, and that's the people at the card company. Get a book or a pen and pencil, and spend that time you're on hold doing some reading or some writing. Time on hold can be a gift.

This morning at Church, I spoke about this to one of the pastors. He said he'd ask around, among younger members of the Congregation, who have a much better understanding about how these things work; and find someone who will help me get this all finally straightened out.
Thank the Lord. In Jesus Name. Amen.

It looks like things are finally working out. Lately, on my computer's in-box, I've been receiving many notices about Medicare and Medicaid, benefits. One of them includes food purchases. About two hours ago, I called in and found that as a retired man on Social Security, I'm entitled to receive a $200 Medicaid card every month, that can only be used to pay for food. I then answered a lot of routine questions, about my name, address, phone number, etc.
So it looks like I can stop being anxious, as Jesus advised in the Bible. Now, hopefully the new card will arrive in my mailbox on Monday morning. I wasn't told that, but that is my prayer, so my anxiety will finally end.
In Jesus Name. Amen.

I'm sorry to say this but I surely hope this is legitimate. There are lots of scammers out there ready to grab your accounts and SS number. Praying this is legitimate.

Thank you Lynn: I've checked it out. I was only asked for my name, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address. No request for my social security number. The entire website looks legitimate.

Who knows? You might find something that you'd like for yourself.

Oh, good. I'm glad to know that. And thank you for the info but we already have the offerings through our insurance company. ::D

A thought has just occurred to me. I can also get over the counter medications, using Medicare and Medicaid Benefits, instead of using my debit card, making payments from my bank account, where I receive my Social Security Payments. I'll be looking into that.

I've been checking this out. Here in New York State, Medicare & Medicaid payments are only permitted for prescription drugs. Not over the counter.
