' But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].'
Hebrews 11:6 Amplified Bible Classic.
This morning, I am contemplating what it means to be a seeker. We desire to walk humbly before our God, in full view of a watching world filled with many who are not living in Faith or in an obedient relationship with God. We are living in a dangerous time that is filled with many who are not held captive by the Word of Life, but are servants to the ruler of this present world, even enemies of God!
We desire to live our lives amongst these people, in a manner worthy of our calling, for many reasons. I choose to do so because I can no longer live as many do, especially as a father, and I use my life and how I live as an instructive tool for them. Kids do what we do, and not as much what we tell them to do!
We are told in this verse in view this morning to seek in earnest and in diligence the Face of God.
' You have said, Seek My face [inquire for and require My presence as your vital need]. My heart says to You, Your face (Your presence), Lord, will I seek, inquire for, and require [of necessity and on the authority of Your Word].'
Psalm 27:8 Amplified Bible Classic.
Why we seek is not ambiguous. It is our vital necessity, it is our lifeblood, to seek His face. There we find the fullness of Joy, our true contentment, and provision. If Godliness with contentment is a great gain, then we have discovered the true riches in this world. Wealth, fame, power, and the sum of the whole of the lusts of the flesh can never satisfy us. Therefore, I have come to understand that the abundant life that Jesus came to bring us into is found in these things. The abundant life He speaks of and teaches us about is these things, the true wealth of His Kingdom!
This is not the prosperity gospel, but the true gospel of His Kingdom. Seeking His face and His presence brings us to true riches, and to the things only He can provide!
