Blog Strength in the trial

I have to admit, when things get tough, I'm not always the best at sitting on my hands and letting things run their course. I'm like a lot of people I think, because when I face a problem i want to jump in with two willing hands to get it done, to fix the problem, and get on with it. But sometimes things happen that are outside of our sphere of influence, and in these situations my gusto comes up short!

With that in mind, I found this gem this morning that I think is helpful, and also instructive. We all face things that we cannot control, and this is a hard place for me. I like to think I can fix any problem, but the hard truth is I can't. But this is what God says,

' For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning [to Me] and resting [in Me] you shall be saved; in quietness and in [trusting] confidence shall be your strength..."

Isaiah 30:15 AMPC

This is where I struggle, but its also how I think we can best face the uncontrollable situations that we face, the situations which really are out of our ability to control. We have to surrender it to the Lord, and rest quietly in our faith, and let God work in those situations, and watch while he works, and it runs its course.

I admit that the powerlessness still makes me uncomfortable, and I am still vexed, but at least I'm not overcome by it.

Surviving trials and tribulations that are outside of our control is hard to deal with, @JasonJ. In the end, we have to trust in the Lord.

But ironically, sometimes doing nothing can be our downfall! But that's where trusting in the Lord to guide us is so important.
