Today, how does a prodigal return to the Father?
Let him talk, son-to-Son, each knowing of love.
The prodigal knows that he has stepped away;
he sees, in the Son, reminder of Abba’s care.
Prodigal knows the oneness of God
means the same arms that encourage
are the ones that receive.
One thing in Heaven that never is new
Is God’s unchanging compassion;
by Messiah we know.​

King Jesus not only did what His Father told Him to do but He, also, said what His Father told Him to say. So, when He told the story of the Prodigal Son, He was revealing what our Father wanted us to know about His forgiving heart towards us. So, that we, the Redeemed-Adopted Ones could have every confidence that it doesn't matter if we fall. His covenant love for us means that when we get up and go home, we can expect not just a hug but a celebration! Amen?
