My uncle's dog died early on New Year's morning.  She had a very aggressive cancer, and he had been caring for her as she went downhill for about a couple months.  She was ten years old, and he's had her since she was a pup.  We all loved her; she was a great dog.  Anyway, it's been really hard on my uncle because she was his family, pretty much all he had except for me and my parents (we're very close to him).  I wanted to give my uncle some space after she died, so I left him alone for about a week, but I finally just had to call him last Sunday.  I only talked to him for about two or three minutes (when he's in a good mood, our phone calls can easily last a half hour to a whole hour) and I could tell he wasn't doing well.  He said he was very, very depressed, and he sounded really bad.  I could tell he did not want to talk.  I know it's going to take time; I've been through it.  Losing a pet is a really messed-up feeling.  It's awful.  So I'd appreciate some prayers for my uncle.  He is a Christian, and I believe he is trusting God to get him through this time of grieving.

I know this grief. Pets are truly family members. When some time has passed, he may do well with another puppy to take care of. It usually helps. Praying for him. 🙏❤️

UPDATE: Talked to him on the phone just now.  He's doing much better, was in a pretty good mood today, and he's coming for visit on Friday!  Thanks for all your prayers, it makes me so happy and relieved to hear that he's feeling better.

Yeah, it takes a little bit for it all to settle in. And some people take longer. I do hope he'll get another puppy when he's doing better. A rescue pup would be ideal. Those animals truly love their owners.

For sure!  I really hope he does get another dog.  I've already thought about bringing it up after a while longer, when the time seems right.  🙂

Lord; @Grey_Skies uncle needs your presence. His pet to which he was very attached passed. Provide him with the peace of mind that you have a plan and his pet is in a good place. Please comfort him, maybe send somebody that understands in his path to stand next to him, guide him in his loss and redirect him to yourself. Not letting him forget your love. In Jesus name
