Mother dear have you passed through that veil,
That separates me and you?
A reply from your lips, I cannot tell.
Movement from your eyes, you cannot do.
Have you gone to that world of spirits on high?
Have you met your maker there?
Are you with your life’s true love?
Have you found the Savior anywhere?
You can visit all your loved ones again;
You are freed from that body of pain.
But we miss you here on earth below;
Your room is empty, where in past you have lain.
Do you see me now? Here on earth still,
Or are you sitting on your throne above?
Maybe you are mingling with the saints at will,
Or are you resting from your journey of love?
One day I will follow in your path,
I must keep the faith for now.
Courage and patience, I must hath;
For the love of God, I must honor and bow.
For God sent His Son into the world,
To redeem us of our sins;
That we could come back into that world,
Where our spirit family did begin.
I will not schedule an arrival time
Though I do know the route.
For the road is straight and narrow,
But curves and hollows are scattered all about.
For to love God and fellow man,
Takes a life of service and love.
Serving, caring and lending a helping hand
Will lead me to that home with you above.
