You can always ask the Lord for insight and understanding of His word.

Sometimes the words on the pages are confusing , but 

when you ash Him for insight He will send you understanding through the Holy Spirit.

Some times I have found myself not fully understanding parts of Gods word, but he has opened my eyes along the way. I believe reveling to me at that right time!
