I remember a night when I couldn’t even pray for forgiveness.
I sat on the floor, head in my hands, my heart so heavy with regret.
Mistakes. Failures. Sins I promised God I would never return to, yet, there I was again. I just finished masturbating.
Ahh...God ! I thought, "Surely, this is it. God must be done with me. How could He ever still want me?"
But in the middle of my shame and guilt, I remembered the woman caught in the act of adultery and was brought to Jesus.
She was forgiven and restored. Was told to go and sin no more.
I wept. Not because of guilt anymore, but because of grace.
The God I thought would turn His back on me, wrapped His arms around me instead.
If Mercy had a face, it would be His.
If Grace had a name, it would be Jesus.
Today, I stand not because I've no record of sins, but because Jesus blood has blotted it all out.
Psalm 130:3 - If You, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand?
If God Kept Score, who Could Stand?
If God kept a record of every wrong we've done, none of us could lift our heads. Not one. We all would crumble under the weight of our failures.
But the beauty of God’s heart ? He Chooses Mercy Over Memory Of Our Sins.
He doesn't keep a running tally to shame us. He invites us to stand, forgiven and free. We didn't earn this, It’s a gift we receive through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
And today, we stand not because we are flawless, but because His Mercy Is Endless.
