Heart is more relevant than flesh, the flesh is just an abstract to give expression of the heart. The heart ( spirit man ) is subjected to a spirit, any spirit, it functions as a representative of spirits allowing them to find expression in the physical realm through our flesh. Man is a tripartite being, we are the only being that operates in three dimensions, spirit, soul and flesh.
If many knew they're being driven by spirit entities, if you only their thoughts are being influenced by spirits they consciously yield to, then they'll hate it when they sin against God, because then they've subjected themselves to demons, becoming a puppet for their will to be made manifest, they're indirectly opposing God's kingdom for allowing darkness to reign.
Through the heart spirits whispers, then the soul picks up the transmission to give authorization to that spirit, yielding to the government of that spirit to enable it function through the heart ( soul ) and find expression in the flesh. We are like a flight control towers giving authorization for an air craft to land, without our authorization, they won't. We are not ignorant of sin, we know which spirit speak to us, because before the craft lands, she gives out her identification code, we access this code before we allow the craft to land, if it is a threat we gun it down, but many don't and so they'll continue being invaded by evil.
Focus on your heart, be a good custodian, guard it day and night with God's word as your shield and prayers as your artillery, lest evil befalls you.
