General Discussion Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone.
The problem is that I'm stuck in my apartment, in the Senior Village where I live. There is about one inch of snow on the concrete walkway outside my apartment. It's probably that way on every walkway throughout the Village. I don't know about the driveways. The time is now 9:46 AM. On any other day, the Maintenance Manager, and his Assistant would have used their plows the clear all the paving, around 6 AM. Since today's a major Holliday, that's just not going to happen, until tomorrow. It just won't be safe for me or any of my neighbors, to step outside until then.
For me, I have all the food I need. So, I'll be spending today bored, but safe. I have no idea how things are for any of my neighbors.
Please pray for all of us. In Jesus Name. Amen.

It's now 10:45 AM. I heard a motor going and looked out my second-floor window. The Maintenance Manager's now going past my building, pushing a snowplow, clearing the walkway. I'm sure his assistant is doing the same, in another section of the Senior Village. I think I should say "Thank you" to both of them, the next time I see them.

Expressing your gratitude would be a wonderful way of starting the new year, William! Go For It!

William, you should work with the social event coordinator and see that there are gatherings for times like this. Or invite a few near you to come over for a cup of tea or coffee. I hope you find something to fill your day, like old movies or whatever. 😊

Hello Lynn:
We used to have a number of Social Gatherings here. We used to have Wednesday afternoon Bingo Games. We also had prayer meetings, a few times during the week. What I liked best was on Wednesday nights, we had Karaoke meetings, where some of us members took part in singing. That was the one I enjoyed the most, and it was the best I've done.
Now the only thing we have going, is at 10 Am, on Thursday mornings, we have meditation meetings. For today, the Lady who runs the meeting has canceled it, just for today. New Years Day. The Lady who runs it, will be back doing so, next Thursday.
Other than that, the only thing I have to fill my day, are these messages between you, other members of Christian writers.com, and myself, along with a number of shows on the TV, and an infinite amount of things here on the internet.
