The Good Fight
“For we walk by faith, not by sight” — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)By today’s standards, having faith could be detrimental to your reputation.
Besides, our world view of any matter can be summed-up by a camera phone video recording.
Or by some other visually stimulated social media app like YouTube, Facebook or Tik-Tok.
Although not always easy, the Bible tells us to fight the ‘good’ fight of faith when the path ahead feels uncertain or when life doesn’t make sense.
The Apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 5:7 that our lives are not meant to be dictated by what we see, feel, or hear, but by the trust (or faith) we place in God and His holy, infallible and eternal word.
Be Still & Know
Think of faith like walking through a pitch-black, dark room guided only by the voice of someone you trust. You may not see where you’re going, but you follow because you believe the one leading you, knows the way.
This is Jesus!
Our Shepherd!
Our God!
As a matter of fact Psalms 23:4 says “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me”
Fighting the good fight of faith, can look like trusting God when your child is out of control, your bank account is empty, when the marriage seems impossible or life seems down-right uncertain.
This is unshakeable faith!
In spite of all our experiences or emotions, God encourages us in Psalms 46:10, to “Be still, and know that I am God”.
Go ahead and trust God with all your heart and walk in your God-given faith!!
Reflection and Application
So what’s one area in your life right now where you’re struggling to see the next step? Pause and pray, asking God to help you trust Him in that space. Take one small action today that reflects faith—whether it’s standing on scripture, making a decision, or simply surrendering a fear to God.
Let’s Pray…
Father God, thank You for being trustworthy even when life feels uncertain. Help me to walk by faith, not by sight. Strengthen my heart to trust You daily, in small things and big ones. Teach me to live a life anchored in Your promises. In Jesus Name. Amen.
