Equipment and soft/hardware suggestions?

I need a new computer. And the issue is had with atticus got me thinking before I invest in more waste.

What do you use to write?
Paper, computer ( desk/lap), tablet, phone? Blend of all or some and if some includes apps for phone that link with laptop? What are those options?

What do you prefer and why?

For Drafting? Writing? Editing? Formatting?

What would you warn me about outside these random 300 publishing companies?

What is the best piece of advice you ever got?

I mainly write down thoughts that spill out of my head on paper and then transfer it to my computer. Once in a while, I start on my computer.

My recent experience with Kindle direct pros. Was once I started refusing additional services like marketing and website building. Its my first book a bible study i mainly meant for my husband that kicked off this whole fiasco . After that the constant false revisions like they thought I couldn't tell. Currently waiting refund. That will fund part of what I need to get my feet really wet.
