Poetry Chosen

This is another one of my finest poems to write. It’s part of a series I wrote “ Jesus Speaking “ I posted another poem like this “Unseen Power”


What must I do to get your attention?


I gave my life for you—


But still it’s not enough to get your faith.


Today, I call you to follow me.





There are many more capable than you.


They are older and have more experience—


And, everyone looks up to them.


I don’t choose the older, wiser or well known.





I choose the faithful—


The obedient and the unashamed.


Never think you are not worthy to be my witness.


I’m not the one giving you that idea.





I have ordained each of you to go—


And, bring forth fruit.


Even more, that the fruit should remain.


Look at the example of the disciples.





Many of them were just average people-


I used to do mighty things.


Don’t let being average stop you.


You have what it takes to storm the gates.





You just lack the faith to let me use you.


Quit wasting your life.


You have the ability within—


Waiting to be used.





Raise the standard in your life.


Know that this is my will for you.


To share my death-


And, my victory over death and Hell.





I have chosen you.
