Poetry A Prayer

A prayer, my prayer,
is that You fill me with your love now,
Let my actions be endorsed by your Spirit.
Daily hold my tongue,
if it tends and wants to say things,
that are not pleasing to your ears.
Remove the dross from my tongue,
so that it may not utter out,
hurtful and harmful speech.
Let it imitate the loving words,
that flow from your heart oh, Lord!
Let my feet leap into action,
helping those who are beat down.
Let the words,
that I write about these things,
be backed up,
by movements of the Holy Spirit,
inside this tired body of mine.
Look around, people are walking the tightrope,
the abyss for most,
looms on either side of it.
Pressing and imminent are the days we live in now.
Open your lips,
speak the love of Jesus to as many people,
on the path you are walking,
pay attention to what it displays.

Thank you GYH! What a heartfelt comment! How wonderful it is to read everyone's comments and thoughts in the pieces they write! God has made us all so uniquely different on purpose, and I treasure that about each one of us! Marc
