Hi, My name is Kim and I am new to the site. God gave me a children's book which I have typed and I hope to get it published. I am currently talking to a young lady about doing the illustrations. Once that is done, I will need to work on the area which intimidates me--publishing. Any advise? I'm was thinking of using self publishing Amazon but if someone knows of something better, please let me know. I enjoy reading. I mostly read nonfiction Christian books but I also enjoy Children books with a good moral.

Welcome Kim. I'm new to the writing scene too, but one thing I have learned while here - watch out for some publishers that charge you money for them to publish your book. Apparently they're more scammers. If they want to publish your book, money should be flowing from them to you, not the other way around.

Obviously with self publishing it's a different story. Most that I read seem to be in favor of self publishing from what I've seen, but I'm still very new and still learning the ropes myself. One thing I do know, is that there's a great bunch of people here, with a wealth of information and experience, and are very friendly in sharing their knowledge!
 
The publishing world can often be a distraction, Go on and finish the book just like you've been inspired to; then I suggest you get it copyrighted.
Publishers usually respect an author who has done that first.
Then you can send out queries to publishers or self-publish.

Hi, My name is Linda Delgado. What part of Texas do you live in?
I live in San Marcos. It's just north of Corpus Christi
