Meets & Greets Alright, enough lurking. Let me introduce myself : )

Welcome to our family of Christian Writers, E. A. Cornell! Although I am not Swedish, I did live in Minnesota for, approximately, 10 years. And, of course, I am VERY familiar with the rivalry between the Packers and the Vikings: VERY! Every football season, there would be "adults?" walking around with hats in the shape of huge blocks of cheese, while others wore helmets with long blonde braids! Oh, the insanity of it all!! 🫣
When I worked at a television station that housed FOX SPORTS NET, I could get comp tickets for every sport EXCEPT football! Tickets to a Vikings game were not cheap! Price list: one arm or leg and your first-born!😂

The fellowship that I attended (and still livestream on Sundays) is Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis. It's roots go back over 150 years from a Swedish group of settlers. "You betcha!" is all the Minnesotan I can speak. I did learn a lot about the native american culture as well as the Somalians. Minnesota is well-known for being this nation's placement center for refugees in need of sanctuary from countries experiencing civil unrest.
Oh, I did have a meal at a Swedish restaurant once. A friend ordered from the menu for me, so don't ask me what it was. It was good, though.
And, I am not a big fan of Narnia or LOTR, my "fantasy taste" tends to lean more towards things like "Princess Bride" and "Pirates of the Caribbean (Black Pearl) only! Some of the Kdrama historical sagas, too. That's it!

Blessings from 'Bama!
So cool! Yeah, I'm not that in to football actually. I watch the Packers from time to time, not so much since Rodgers left. 😆 My bror actually got me one of those cheese head hats for Christmas.

Now I always think of the whale orca and the bean orca together. So I might just as easily think of the taste of Orca beans and picking them as of the killer wales of the ocean.

Hmm... Well if you were also making yogurt, you may have done the kind where you let it sit out instead of cooking it. That uses live cultures instead of adding an acid like citric acid, lemon juice, or applecidar vinegar.

I'm no longer into football (never was a big fan of it, but used to watch a little before the kneeling episode) but my 'home team' back when I watched it as a little kid enjoyed shredding cheese. 🐴🔵🟠 or eating it... I may have a few article of clothing and such in honor of that team hidden away in the depths of the treasures of the past we don't talk about, lol.
Still remember the time that my friend went to a game between the two teams back in those days (I found out he was a traitor, lol🧀). The Broncos made sure to shred them and I made sure to give him a hard time.🤣
Wow, I never heard of orca beans before. Looks interesting.

Well, I don't know if there is room in this thread for these, but consider them a welcome aboard treat. They're not any kind of cheese, and I speak absolutely no Swedish. Still, these speak all languages.

I have to admit, some of the scenes in those movies (especially LOTRs) are a bit... gruesome. C.S.Lewis tried to keep it kid friendly, but I think Tolkien tried to describe all the creatures that Lewis said the adults wouldn't let you read the story if he described them.

Yeah, I guess you are right, Lynae! I remember when I first saw, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as a new believer. Someone told me that it was a "christian" movie because of some of its biblical references. What was I thinkin'?!?🤦‍♀️

I haven't seen that movie, but just because a movie is "Christian" doesn't mean it is... pleasant to watch. And also some people's opinion of "Christian" may be different.

Welcome! It's cool you've learned some Swedish. I've always been fascinated by the Nordic regions of Europe. :)
I'm a VR developer, writer, musician (not to much currently), and Blender enthusiast.
Neat! I've also been learning Blender for the past few years, though I've found it to be both overwhelming and amazing with each new release. They keep adding new features just when you were getting familiar with the old ones. :D

Oh hej fellow Blenderhead! : D Yeah, I feel ya about the releases. I have basically tuned out at this point. 😂 If it is an earth shattering new feature then I pay attention.

Ya, Swedish is a really cool language (very Yooper friendly). I really find Finnish fascinating too, but its too hard to remember all those big words. 😅 All I can say in Finnish is "hei" and "talo".

Right back atcha, . 😎 That's the name I was thinking of but couldn't mentally locate, lol. Coincidentally, it was also the name of a punk rock band. 😆 I've given up on downloading each new update (computer can't handle it) but I saw 5.0 is coming soon. That should be exciting, although I've taken to just working in the version I started with, as stuff started getting wonky when I tried to switch between updates. I did hear something about them adding in an AI feature soon? Not sure how I feel about that. I've always liked Blender's offline functionality. What do you like to make with it?

I see you're also a coder. Do you ever code in Blender? (I know some people do, and a lot have made add-ons for the software)

Definitely (though I can't say I know much about it, lol). I really find Scandinavian history fascinating. Have you ever been over there?

Oh, I didn't hear about the AI bit. As long as I can still blend offline, I'll be fine. 😌 AI is useful if you use it right. As for what I make, I currently mostly create 3d models for my VR games, but I make everything from maps to short cartoons. I have done a little Python coding in Blender, but I mostly code C# in Unity now. I have tried making some add-ons, but never finished them.

Okej, Scandinavian time. I have never been to Europe. I'm a part Swede, part German, American, with some other countries mixed in there (French I think and maybe Sardinian 😮). I recently became really fascinated by the Nordic countries and my Swedish heritage after getting into the language. I generally find my personality and where I live to be more Scandinavian (I regularly hear my family say uff da, and we have some dala horse stuff). I love a good cheese filled Brat though. 😄

That statement may be iffy, as I'm not 100% sure where I heard it or even if I heard it right. 🤷‍♀️ But should they include it, the brilliant part of Blender is that you can locate every update ever created on their website, so rolling back to an earlier release would be an option. Neat! I would love to see some of your work if you're ever up for sharing. :)

Neat! I'd love to visit there someday. Are you fluent in any of the Nordic languages?

Everything? Lol. I started with 2d and extremely basic short animations, but then branched out into some 3d set modeling (which I love but my laptop can't handle much) and messing around with some pre-made models. Rigging a 3d character is eternally frustrating (and using Mixamo is easy until it gets way, way harder) so I have not done much in the way of 3d animation. Mostly sculpting and modeling characters/sets, but my main Blender occupation has been 2d animation and art.

So cool! My bror is into 2d animation (he uses Krita though). Yeah, somehow Blender gets ya into everything. 😆

I think it would be cool to visit the Nordic countries someday too (it sounds like a nice place). I am not too fluent in Swedish, but I can say a few things.

And, sure I'll share some of my stuff. I have some of my models on Sketchfab https://sketchfab.com/E.A.Cornell .

Thanks! Ah cool. Yeah I've tried some animation in Krita but found I liked Blender better. (Also not as experienced with navigating the former, so maybe that accounted for some of my troubles :D) :)

Neat! I know a teensy bit of Spanish. :D

You're very talented!

Tack så mycket. (Thanks so much) 🙂 You know some Spanish, cool! Spanish is a language I think I would struggle with. I think I heard Swedish is the easiest language for English speakers to learn. 😏

I actually prefer to use GIMP for picture edits. I think Krita is complicated. 😅 (But I am told that GIMP is like the worst art program ever. I don't mind, I was raised on it. 😂😂😂)
