New Years Day is Thursday. This year's Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year Celebrations will be ended. After that, it's just two and a half months of Winter cold. Does anyone know if there will be anything for us Christians to celebrate, before we reach Palm Sunday?

Actually, we are still in Christmas. It is the 12 days of Christmas. In some parts of the world, they don't celebrate Christmas Day until January.

Other than that, don't forget Valentines. Now that date has been sorely paganized and commercialized, but look into its Christian origins with Saint Valentine.

Immaculate conception, St Pat's, Ash Wednesday, Lent.
I like to search the history of these with children and adults that have not learned about them yet.

I'm not Catholic, so I tend to not be the hugest fan of those, especially the way they have been paganized and commercialized, but I think St. Patrick's Day has a cool story to go with it. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how historically accurate it is...

Well, we're all catholic, lol — part of the universal church — but maybe not Roman Catholic, Episcopalian or Orthodox. I will use what is out there, what someone is interested in, to "walk them" to the truth.
That can make me look like "not-billigerent" and someone that cares about giving honest and balanced information.
Some once said, "All roads lead to Christ." — which is a sketchy way to say it — but at that point we can help them see that only Christ leads to God.
Hope that makes sense.

My family and I celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. We wear green, watch documentaries about the man, things like that. Patrick was a real man and his story is perfectly historically accurate, only it's been changed over time. The real story, I think, is better than the one we think of now-a-days. When it gets closer to the day, I'll see if I can find some good resources for you guys. ;)

Martin Luther King, Jr. day, Jan 19, we get to celebrate the faith and faithfulness of those who suffered a long injustice, and those who aided in the quest to rectify society ills to match our Constitution. The day has it's political side, but we get to point to Christ working in and through His people in matters of hope and forgiveness.

Actually, William, we can celebrate each new day by writing (that's why we call ourselves Christian writers), reading the Lord's works, and reaching out to others. "This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it."

I just wish we'd all remember the last part of that famous quote.
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character" Appearance shouldn't matter so much. After all, you can't help what color your hair, skin, or eyes are, or if you are tall or short.
