Who's ready to jump into NaNoWriMo?

Recommended Posts

Yep. I've been editing my current novel for probably a month. I started novel 2. I'm hoping by November, I'll maybe be on to novel 3 and editing 2 and waiting to be able to self pub 1 (I have to wait until November because of a couple contests I entered to get feedback from professionals.)

Let's do this!

Going for it again. If I have the core of Persistence of Memory down, I can work on the short story ideas I have in that universe through Christmas and look at it through fresh eyes in January.

As for difficulty, I work in retail.

I'll be writing draft 3 of my first novel in November 🙂 Just finished organizing all 65-70 scenes YESTERDAY (God's gift to me, to be more productive in my day job today!), and from now until October 31 I will be massaging the scenes to make each one unforgettable! So excited!

Edit to add: So YES I will be doing Nano to motivate completion in 30 days.

That is a major step forward. It is a hassle to do but worth while. I have just done the same to Ragtag Souls and it is shaping up so much better - especially the troublesome Part One. Keep going.

My kids and I have participated every year since 2007 when they were 7, 5 and 3 years old. The last three years or so it's just been me and my oldest who is 21 now and loves writing as much as I do. We look forward to November every year. Not only does November have the best holiday ever (Thanksgiving=Food+ Family+ little expectations and commercialism... Can't beat that) but also it's one month of fanatically writing. Best month ever! 😍

NaNoWriMo changed my writing life and put me on a path to productivity. With that said, it achieved its purpose and I'm content not getting caught up into something to the exclusion of all else for November. I competed in 2004 and again in 2014. I'm debating trying again in 2024, but have a couple of years to gear up for that.
