FINALLY! Another Chapter Finished!

Recommended Posts

My characters have been stuck in the same day while several months passed for me.  I finally got my protagonist written through her first day of work.  Next chapter (their tomorrow or Saturday), she'll go mole-hunting with some local kids.  (I sure wish I could find "status" on my profile)

Well done, Paul. Getting that first chapter is a huge milestone.  You will probably have to rewrite several times though as your book develops. Some authors even ditch the 1st one completely. (I did that once). But keep going.

This is like chapter 35 I finished.  I'd been bogging down quite badly the past few months.  It was my protagonist's first day working at the local hardware store.  Protagonist has no identity except what she's come up with over the preceding few weeks.  She's starting from scratch, living off the land, and almost homeless but with quite a bit of support from locals.  The guy on whose land she's camped, offered indoor accommodations (barn or even house), but she's electing to 'rough it'.
