This is my second round with some important revisions. It's close to 69,000 words.

The book alternates between Cherry's point of view and Rowdy's. I struggle with its genre, because it's not a typical romance. It's not an old-fashioned western or even a modern one based on the old style.

The current title is Escape to a Better Tomorrow.

This is the blurb.

Who deserves a second chance? The woman running away, her abusive husband, or the angry horse?

Cherry seeks refuge in a Montana horse-rescue ranch. Three rescues challenge her equine skills. She must earn their trust and gain her own confidence.

Cherry fears being found by Rowdy. A square dance may lead him to her.

Rowdy alternates between trying to hunt her down and finding a replacement for his missing wife-maid-cook-ranch hand. A new venture causes him disaster but also finds him a new “friend.”

Trust. Confidence. Sobriety. Compassion. Patience. Hope. All crucial to successful relationships, but easier said than done with either humans or animals.
