Sounds confusing. I think a contract should spell out everything, and we as writers need to read it and understand it.

Interesting. There are significant differences in the character as he is portrayed by different actors, but the common points of the character biography are fairly well known.

Never occurred to me - I assumed they belonged to the author based on authors kept copyright of their work.
