Prayer Request for a Friend

Recommended Posts

A friend's father died unexpectedly of Coronavirus this past weekend. He'd been sick for a while, but he wasn't that old and in fine physical health, so no one thought he'd die. What makes everything worse is that she was not able to visit him or attend his funeral, on account of his living halfway across the world. She is very upset and in a fragile emotional state right now. I know she would appreciate your prayers.

Lord the unexpected loss of a friend or loved one is difficult for us, and not to be to say goodbye makes it more so.

Provide this friend peace, comfort, strength and understanding in this time. If they are searching for solace I pray they look to you because my confidence is full that you will provide for them in this time. In Jesus name: Amen.

I will be praying for your friend. Deaths are very hard to deal with, especially if you can't be there at their funeral.

However, with all due respect, I'm not sure if I believe that her father died of the virus. The government has been padding the death rates since this all started, and they include deaths from other causes such as heart attacks or car accidents or the like and label them as COVID-19 deaths. That is just me. Please do not take that as something offensive, haughty, or rude. I am just stating what I think.

Update: Yesterday was the meeting where people recite/listen to the entire Quran on behalf of the soul of the person who passed. It was a very hard day for her, but I’m glad I was able to attend and support her—thanks to my sister babysitting the kids! Continued prayers would be so appreciated...

Oh, dear. I'm so sorry. Bless her heart. Are they both Christians? Will surely pray for your friend. 🧡

No, Lynn, sadly they are not.

I appreciate your concern, but he did in fact die from the virus. He was in Iran, not the U.S., and they don’t have the same pressure to inflate cases there—if anything, the opposite.
