Selling a story to Australia

Recommended Posts

I just received acceptance for a story I sent to a magazine in Australia. (How do I make this big smile not so big???)469407_1.jpg.af9f14111b898126cfd835909438cfa7.jpg

Anyway, they are requiring "non-exclusive, ongoing print and digital rights" to my story, with the first right to publish. That makes sense to me. Does it to others?

I'm not an expert at all, but that makes sense to me. I've seen some magazines reuse jokes and switching out the person's name. I don't know what all they might do with a story, but it sounds like magazines just do stuff like that, but I'm thinking with a story they just might reprint it down the road and that that's probably just typical magazine stuff? 🤷‍♀️

Either way, congrats! How exciting!
