Does anyone use Scrivener?

I've just started using it and love the simplicity in breaking my projects down into manageable pieces by chapter and section.

What I'm wondering about is the compilation process and how easy it is to move into the publishing process. If anyone has experience that they would share, you'll have my thanks.

It's really easy.  Just hit compile, choose your venue (you have to get the .mobi extension to publish to Amazon unless you want to save it to a .docx and Amazon will accept that, too) and away you go.  I'm sure Johne or someone else will explain the process to you.

I tried a Scrivener free trial and freaked out and ran back to Word. 😂 I'm starting to regret it; I hear so many good things!

Start out just using it as (Johne and SW, don't read this) a word processor. Then as you are more comforable with that, you can break up your document into whatever sections you like (chapters and/or scenes or ???). Learning Scrivener is like eating an elephant (although I don't think I'm that hungry).

Scrivener does have a tutorial that you can work through. I went through that and haven't had a problem with the learning curve (but there's probably a lot of features that I'm not using to their full). Having now worked in Scrivener for 18 months, I have to wonder how I ever managed to write 2-and-a-half novellas in Word.

This was my experience as well.

Choosing Scrivener over Word is like choosing the red pill over the blue pill. I don't have Neo's courage.

Bit late to the party but I just recently decided to jump on the Scrivener train myself after watching some videos with all the features it offers its hard for a new writer like me not get it. I mean I hear you can setup a template to handle all the formatting right away that alone makes it pretty worth it to me.
