Waiting Upon the Lord

Recommended Posts

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

I am not sure how much longer

I can ponder your absence of mine to be found.

It is better to be single, than to be married.

Or so says the Saint, unless your passion be carried -

Halt the parried wedding bells to be sound.

If absence makes my yearning heart break,

And passions distill for chastities sake,

Then wait I must take, if God's plan I wish to be found.

In a bank or in a safe, I wish to deposit

My love to hold, in savings to bring composite;

A peace. Now rouse it on time, O Lord, for your glory to sound.
