It’s Sunday, But Monday’s Coming

(c)

Prompted by a sermon commented on by Tony Compollo

It’s Sunday.

The shadows have passed.

The sun rose.

So what will you do

on Monday?

It’s Sunday.

The burial task’s

no longer needed.

So what will you do

on Monday?

It’s Sunday.

Women, full of the empty tomb,

brought the men.

So what will you do

on Monday?

It’s Sunday;

a Spring season

ends winter’s mask.

So what will you do

on Monday?

It’s Sunday;

His fearful friends now

bask in the light.

So what will you do

on Monday?

Now, each day,

He comes

to heart hearers who hear

“So what will you do

on Monday?”
