Barnes & Noble sold

Not a huge surprise, but the timing left many wondering when.

This should be good news for the long-term health of B&N. They have long been mired in keeping afloat amidst many changes in management and getting rid of bad leases...

I prefer to think that a hedge fund isn’t going to spend that much money unless they think they will receive a return on their investment.

I hope they can turn things around and give Amazon some much needed competition. I don't think the Walmart/Kobo partnership is doing much.

Also, I wonder what impact it will have on B&N Press. They recently revamped and offered POD service. That's got to have a lot of indie authors worried.

That's for sure. Nobody wins in a monopoly, (lol, except the banker)

I know I sound like a dumb bunny, but I have never been able to figure out what indie means...LOL o_O

I have never been too pleased with the former management of B&N; maybe this new manager will offer us something surprisingly refreshing; I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

I means any work: record, book, movie, etc. not belonging to or affiliated with a major company.

Ahh...thanks for clearing that up for me! I would see that term for games all the time on Google Play Store and I'm like...hmm...indie...must be the name of some simplistic style I'm not familiar with...LOL 😂

In short form, it means independent. ;)

I was surprise when I found out a few days ago. Barnes and Nobles is one of my go to bookstores. I am curious to find out what's going to happen next.
