Workbook binding

Recommended Posts

I say if your doing this for yourself and maybe a friend, saddle stitch. It's fairly easy and quick for small projects and best of cheap. the biggest expense is the one time stapler expense. If your buying a blank workbook to make notes in, I prefer perfect binding.

I personally prefer the spiral or comb binding, because it lays flat, good for a workbook. You can do the comb binding yourself, although you do have to invest in the machine.

If you have a sewing machine and the workbook is not too many pages, you can actually stitch up the middle, then trim the pages even on the outside. That's probably what the "saddle stitch" was originally.
