Have You Been Rejected By An Editor So Badly?

Recommended Posts

To be clear, I told the anecdote just to share a situation I was in, not because I did not move on.  I already signed a new editor, some hours after @HK1 hoped I would find a better one. Now, if the situation has allowed to discuss questions like translation issues, as @carolinamtnedid, that is great. I have a feeling that you might think I am complaining about something. Since there was no possibility to collaborate with that editor, I am left to wonder whether you would not be suggesting me to vote with my feet on the whole subject.

I think all writers can benefit from a healthy dose of perspective.

If you think this guy was brutal, just wait until you're blessed with a publishing contract. That document will give your editor the authority to make wholesale changes without your (further) permission.

No freelancer will ever have that kind of authority.
