Gray is my name,
but gray is also yours,
we fight against it,
some cover it up with dye,
but we cannot stop it,
no matter how hard we try.
Gray is no longer respected,
and it is spurned by the young.
Many vow that they will never be,
a lonely gray,
to be absent,
with no loving company.
Age is a speeding falcon,
that blows by you and me,
but the grays,
they are so valuable,
to our God from Galilee.
Don't walk on by a gray,
as if they had, nothing wise to say,
for just few a short blinks ago,
their hair,
showed not a hint of gray.
Oh, young ones,
open your hearts and ears,
don't cast them aside,
'cuz they've witnessed many years,
you should listen very well,
to hear all their wisdom,
for it shall surely tell.
