I have recently been talking to a colleague within the church who presents a 'God podcast' series. He interviews well known Christians about their faith & issues in the news.

It got me thinking about if there might be milages in my doing something similar but with writers. I know that there are writers to interview other writers via blogs and there are writers to present YouTube shows about writing but has anyone come across a writer who does a podcast?

Ok, I admit to having started one.

That said, if you are doing one, why don't you aim for how each person is called to something different? So, not just podcasters. @lynnmosher does an uplifting newsletter. @Wes B is aiming to make the gospel easier to understand for people just learning about it. There are all kinds of Christian creators. There should be all kinds of stories about it. So it would be something more long term you could do, if you want to. One more thing, don't forget contracts if you do an interview. One of the biggest reasons is that if you don't, you can get in trouble with the wiretapping laws. (According to the lawyers. Which I am not.)

There are several podcasts that do something like this, but I'm not sure if they always have guests. I'll list the podcast titles I can think of here.

Stories are Soul Food

Ink and Impact (our own @PenName was interviewed by the host of this one)

Because Fiction (I think that's the title, and if I recall correctly, @PenName was also interviewed on this one)

The Christian Publishing Show (a great podcast to listen to)

I know the Story Embers team also do a podcast, but I can't recall the name at the moment.

Those are the ones I can think of now. If I think of more, I'll add them.

You know, there is a podcast called Kingdom Writers. Love that one! Another one I found recently is Honest Marketing. It's pretty good too!

Whatever you do, there is always room for more in that area. Just like people read lots of books, people listen to lots of podcasts.

My biggest thing was finding something I could continue doing long-term without running out of ideas. I dont have a quiet place to interview people, so it was never an option for me. I have to grab my quiet moments where I can find them. 😄 Yes, I am a parent.

Yes, I was on these two! Ink and Impact is hosted by an editor (Dalene Bickel), and Because Fiction is hosted by a writer (Chautona Havig).

But @Shamrock , I agree with the others - go for it, if it's what you want! Everyone brings a unique voice.
