I'm wondering about entering a writing contest.

I'm beginning to wonder about entering some kind of writing contest. Would anyone have any suggestions about one or more contests that would be good to choose from?

I haven't seen any lately. It might be a good idea to drop in the genre you're looking for.

You might want to try Good Old Days. Their guidelines are online. I've had success with them twice. They are looking for real life event that happened to you--events that occurred years ago when you were young.
