I like the design, but not sure about the color combo. Would black or gray work instead of that mustard yellow?
The blue has to stay, but what it's combined with is still up in the air. Testing out an orange as well. Plus some other changes to make it click. This week is kinda berserk so I hope to get back to it soon.

I can finally get back to y'all on the "how's it going so far" portion of the program... with photographic evidence.
Suffice it to say, we've done a few sets of events now: Just author signings at a book store, gaming store and two craft shows.

The book signings were okay, for only just a few hours. Not too many people showed, but we did sell at least a month's worth of online book sales each time. Enough to pay for the expenses of the trip and a little extra. The insane part was the book store. We were set up in the middle of the store, with my spiritual warfare books, and then on the other side of the shelves.... a woman reading tarot cards. 🤦
Now... on the other hand, the craft shows, with people who aren't necessarily my target audience, I have sold entire years worth of online book sales in a single day! More than enough to pay for the next set of books, a fair chunk of the extra merchandise and then some. Not enough to make a living off of yet, but a supplemental income.

So I can recommend doing this to people. You'd be surprised how many people out there are interested in getting signed copies this way. It's gratifying and exciting to talk to people who are curious about your books. If people give you the "thank you, no" treatment, no worries. I didn't find that to be painful at all. They just weren't my target audience or were looking for other things. Very often you will be one of the couple of authors there, too. That helps you out with your uniqueness too.The only bummer I have is that since you're selling stock you bought, you're dealing with the fact that your sales will not touch your rankings anywhere, but you will make the most money per book.

Author Ben Wolf has a guide for author events out there. I would recommend many of the suggestions on that.

Next up for us: Comicons! Where the big money can (supposedly) be made!

Today, I'm off to Morgantown, WV to have an author signing event at the Four Horsemen gaming store tonight. Then on to Steel City con (just as an attendee to do more research and have some more fun.)

So if anyone's planning to be there, you'll have to keep an eye out for a guy in a UFO hawaiian shirt tomorrow, or maybe see you at the gaming store tonight to chat. :D
