Well, there are a ton of people who have been told how great AI is, and it's stoked a lot of curiosity. So, people are trying to ride that wave.
I'm sure there's a lot I need to learn about how to better prompt the AI. But that's the point. Writers who go down this path are honing their skillset to better prompt a tool to better tell their story instead of learning how to do it themselves. Sort of like having my own Tom Clancy android to do my writing.
I wouldn't use AI to make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich let alone write a book for me. Would you?
I might consider using AI to prepare me a better grilled chicken. But on second thought, no. It'll probably try to poison me because the AI creators complied input from a serial killer.
Amen!!!!The whole process of writing is to take the elements of YOUR insights and YOUR life experiences and craft it into something of value and/or to delight the senses of others. AI uses elements from a high tech yet limited database of compiled input. MANY different individuals from various backgrounds were paid to send in data for AI. i know because they tried to recruit me. but, I prayed about it and, even though I needed the income; I turned down the offer. I could not justify excepting payment for helping to make a machine have human thought responses and reactions. Where is glory for GOD in that? Maybe, AI should be the one to get all the rejection slips that it deserves for even THINKING that it could compete with REAL writing by REAL people.
