With how busy everything has been I have not been on a lot of places or gone to many events. Got a call from my doctor I needed to go for labs since Covid closed the walk in labs. Went in for an appointment after the lab work came back and was told I have not been there since I was in the hospital in 2017. Since then I have lost 70 pounds and lowered my A1C by 3. I was told I need to lower it 1 and half more to 7 or I would be getting a scrip for Ozempic. Also my PSA's are high, I have to go back for another test in September to see if it gets lower. I am on antibiotics to see if it just an infection.

Great job! If you lost 70 pounds already you are doing fantastic. A lot of doctors are pushed by insurance companies to meet certain metrics and have to tell you certain things when you come in. That's concerning that they are pushing ozempic. My mom's doctors were getting kickbacks from companies that pushed certain pills in the 90s and 00s but I think they've cracked down on that a lot. That seems weird that they are ignoring a 70 lb weight loss. There's a website called dollars for docs by Propublica that you can search if your doc is getting pay from companies. https://projects.propublica.org/docdollars/

My doctor is not getting paid for pushing pills, she has researched meds in her office during visits to find the most affordable. She doesn't even bill me over what the insurance company pays because of my financial situation. We almost lost her as a doctor because she was losing money with poor patients. 7 is the magic A1C number. The PSA's are more worrying for me
