    Only in your presence,

can I really drop my guard.

    only with You,

do I find that comforting place.

    I run around this world,

    to find this or that,

    when all the while,

    it's not where it's at.

    Lord,

    heal my heart,

    make it pure to you.

Bring back the child in me,

    the one I've misplaced.

    Keep chipping away,

    these scales of callousness,

    I've acquired with years.

    Teach me to be vulnerable,

    like the children the young,

    they have no pretense,

    their loving spirits,

bring only sweet music to your ears.
