"I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do" (John 17:4).

I am a Sanitation Tech at George's Prepared Foods. They make (RTE), ready to eat foods, such as burgers and sausage patties. After production has ran on 1st and 2nd shift, we go in and clean the machines.

There is a process to this and it involves a couple of steps.

There are millions of people that eat off these machines that we clean every single day. Walmart being one of George's top customers, and we know, a lot of people buy prepared meat from Walmart.

Now imagine if we went in and didn't complete the work through the night. What would happen? Well, I assume there would be a huge bacteria issue. A lot of people would probably get sick if they ate the product.

How many of us treat life like this. How many of us start a task, but usually never finish it. Sometimes there may be consequences and sometimes there may be none.

What if Jesus done that. What if like many of us, He didn't finish what he started!

What we would consider the end of life, Jesus considered return to the reality of eternal life.

Thank goodness that He isn't like us and He did finish the work that God gave Him to do!

Oswald Chambers says, "Jesus Christ's death was not something that happened to Him which might have been prevented. His death was the very reason why He came."

If Jesus Christ hadn't finished that job, then we would all be in big trouble just like the people who ate the burgers off a bacteria ridden machine.

I know I am one that doesn't finish a lot of things that I start. But God has just now brought these things to my mind, and I see some things that I need to work on.

How has this devotional challenged you?

I would love to hear how God is speaking to you ...

    Be Encouraged, Chris
