About Me

  1. Anybody have a fiction book (either recently published or been out for a little while) that’s in need of a few more reviews? I’m happy to post reviews to Goodreads and Kobo. Unfortunately I can’t do Amazon right now. Please PM me if interested.
  2. Hi, everyone, I entered a writing challenge and made it to the finalists. If you'd like to support me via a vote, I'm under the pen name "Ann Milo". (Voting ends tomorrow at 8:00 A.M. Pacific time.) Thanks so much https://speculativefaith.lorehaven.com/finalists-2020-spec-faith-fall-writing-challenge/#respond
  3. Just wanted to let those that may be interested know Edward's Folly they can get it for $.99 until Sunday.
  4. So, today, I did my first-ever cover reveal and pre-orders! This is a huge achievement for me, and I'm super excited and proud of it. Thank you all for the help and support you've given me. (Especially those of you who gave me tips on the cover. I did some tweaking and now it looks a bit more like an actual firefly XD)
  5. The second series of books in the Diamond Books Bible based reading project is ‘The Jesus Series’. This series consists of 16 books for 4-5 year olds to read themselves. Books 1-8 (Part 1) focus on what Jesus said about himself, shown in John’s gospel. Books 8-16 (Part 2) are stories about Jesus and tell what Jesus came to do, based on Isaiah 61:1-2 and Luke 4:16-21. In Part 1, each book teaches about one of the names given to Jesus in the Bible. For example, the first book teaches that Jesus is the light of the world. Adults can help a child to orally memorise the Bible verse and
  6. Hi! So, finally, the paperback version of my book for geared toward ages 9-11 is now available in paperback format. It is called Memory Lane was Moved, and it is about an 11-year-old who suddenly lost his memory and finds himself friendless and alone in the city. This book deals with national security threats, secret agents, and more! I am going to discuss some of the process of trying to get your paperback printed using Kindle Direct Publishing. It is rather technical, and it caused frustration to me as I tried to figure it out. If electronic jargon scares you or stresses you out,
  7. I know some of you blog and it can be way, of generating interest/read base especially for those of you would have work published. My query is as someone who has not got work published (other than a Self-published book I'd rather forget about) I am wondering whether it is worth creating a blog? What on earth do I write about 'the trials of an unknown author? I can see the point for those who offer services for writers or have work to promote. Any thoughts?
  8. How do you choose the title for your books and how do you know if it promotes the right message? I am asking because I am beginning to wonder if my first book's title is the reason I am not getting anywhere with agents/publishers? It is called 'Demons of Sphinx' Below is the summary to give you an idea of what it is about. I am not sure it is working. I like the title as it plays upon the over-riding theme of the two main characters having to come to terms with personal tragedy and regain their faith. One person commented that they liked the title but wondered if readers would
  9. I’m hosting my first giveaway! An autographed paperback copy of my book, Links of the Two Worlds, will be given to five lucky winners. Two ways to enter: Instagram Email
  10. Just so you know, I'll do book reviews on my blog www.thejesusroad.com, so if you have published any, let me know.
  11. I have being doing some research into identifying christian magazines or anthologies who accept short stories. Most seem to only accept non-fiction articles. I just wondered if anyone had come across any magazines or publishers or a website with a list. I did google but the ones that came up were either out of date or, as I said, only accepting non-fiction work.
  12. Just had to say thank you to @PenName for the opportunity to collaborate and contribute an article in the Writers' Room on her website! It was a lot of fun putting it together (Here's the link, if you'd like to check the article out: Research for Writing)
  13. The Christian Indie Awards are now accepting nominations for the 2021 Awards. Awards are given in 18 categories to Christian books by independent authors or small publishers. Authors can nominate their own book. Learn more or nominate your book at https://www.christianaward.com/ ~Sarah Bolme Christian Indie Publishing Association (CIPA)
  14. Hello All, I've started a "Promotional Bundle" on the site StoryOrigin, which is a (currently free) place for authors to organize newsletters, book promotions, etc. I'm a little fuzzy on exactly how it works, since I've never done it before, but I think the idea is, if any of you have a Christian book of any genre that will be discounted between September 1 and September 30, you can go to the site and add it to the bundle I created. It's called, not surprisingly, "Christian Book Deals." The creator is E.B. Roshan. Then, on September 1st, we all share the col
  15. Christian Writers Association UK I think some of us on this site are based in the UK. I came across this website for UK Christian Writers. The site does not have forums for posting like this site but it might be of interest for anyone in the UK.
  16. So I'm currently in the process of requesting reviews for my book. It's not as easy as I thought it would be, given the number of book reviewers out there, and the hundreds of reviews many books receive. Anyway, it just occurred to me I could ask for reviews here, too. My book is Wrong Place, Right time. It's a short Christian romance with suspense elements. You can check it out here on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Wrong+Place%2C+Right+Time+EB+Roshan&ref=nb_sb_noss If you're interested in giving it a review, please PM me and let me know. I'd be happy to send y
  17. Hi all, I just wanted to flag up Kirsten's generosity and support in writing a review for my book. If you'd like to read it, here's the link: https://pagesandpaws.com/2020/07/20/petitions-from-my-heart-little-book-big-message/?unapproved=1760&moderation-hash=3381341b99a97069fa5ff735e67926df#comment-1760 Needless to say I am quite chuffed!
  18. Since you guys helped me come up with the promotional idea, I wanted to make sure you had the opportunity to enter too! My new book, Testimonies of Grace, will be released Labor Day weekend. I'm doing an email sign up list to be the first to know when the book is out - and you'll also be entered to win an Amazon Gift Card, a signed copy of Testimonies of Grace, and a signed copy of Child of Grace: A Death Row Story! Simply send an email to info@childofgracebooks.com with "Sign me up!" in the subject line. [I promise not to spam you!]
  19. Wrong Place, Right Time, my first novel, is on sale for .99 cents from now until July 30. This is to celebrate the imminent release of the next installment in the series. If all goes well, Final Chance will be available July 4th. I know a lot of you here have already read Wrong Place, Right Time in some form or fashion, but if you haven't, you can check it out here: https://books2read.com/u/m2VkJr
  20. I'm looking for Advanced Readers for my book, "Links of the Two Worlds." 21. Today Kristine shared a remarkably kind and positive review of my novel on her book blog, Pages and Paws. What a blessing! https://pagesandpaws.com/2020/06/24/wrong-place-right-time-hits-the-mark/ Slowly, one by one, the reviews are coming in...
  22. When I shared my first cover, folks were divided over whether it was meant to be a suspense novel or a self-help book. Clearly, the time had come to design more covers. Here's what I've come up with so far. (I have to say I do still like my original cover the best, but I understand the necessity of sacrificing personal artistic preferences for genre clarity.) 1. is my original cover. 2. is my second favorite, though I don't love it. 3. I don't like this one, but I made it just because I could. 4.
  23. How do you set up an Author page on amazon or a seller page?
  24. I'm hoping this is the correct avenue in which to post this. I have finished a children's book and have discovered that my illustrating skills are abysmal. The illustrator that was going to work with me on the project has backed out, so I am looking for someone who would want to partner with me. If interested, shoot me a message and we will go from there. Thanks.
