So, I've been successfully writing by getting up early in the morning. It's when I usually have my quiet time, until I found myself unable to get up when the alarm went off (slept through it constantly). When I decided to switch things up and try writing in the mornings, my quiet time all but stopped completely. I've felt empty and longing for that time with God ... But early mornings is the only time I get alone.
I think it's more important for my kids to see me buried in the Word than glued to my computer screen, so I'd like to keep the early mornings for writing, and just layer in the quiet time at a certain time of day when the kids are up. Maybe while they're eating breakfast.

After reading an inspiring post by Nora Roberts about writing, I decided today I would Mae writing happen, even if my kids are bored, even if the sunshine is calling my name, even if the dishes need washing, and even if my brain isn't working.
So I booted up my computer, announced to my kids I would be out of pocket for two hours with the exception of basic needs, and got ready to type.
An hour later, my computer is still installing an update, and is only 8% complete.
