  1. Thank you for all of your feedback. This is very helpful.
  2. Thank you for your feedback. I know it is a process, but just wanted to see if anyone had an ideas for getting reviews. Blessings to you.
  3. As a first time author, I am excited and blessed that I sold 136 copies of my book, I Meant It for Good: A Memoir of Dreaming, Visualizing, and Becoming My Authentic Self, in the first two weeks. However, I do not have any customer reviews on Amazon and I know this will be a problem moving forward. I have read the marketing books, have pitched reviewers, and actually have a couple lined up, but I am uncertain as to how to really get the amount of reviews I need. Has anyone used a paid service to help them? Any help would be appreciated.
  4. I am beyond excited that my first book, I Meant It for Good: A Memoir of Dreaming, Visualizing and Becoming My Authentic Self, was released March 15th. Because of the current situation with the COVID-19, I have cancelled 2 Book Launch Parties. However, I feel blessed that I have 4 guest podcasts and 1 guest blog scheduled for future dates. I am beginning to see more and more the value of an online presence. You can read more about my book at https://maryrechkemmermeyer.com/book/.
  5. I am a first time author and my book will be released March 15th. Have any of you had any experience with promoting your book on podcasts or guest blogging for other sites? I have several podcasts lined up and also one guest blog, and I am looking for something that will align with what I am trying to promote through my book. My book is a memoir of overcoming obstacles, including cancer and finding integrative treatments, but is also a story of my life as God walked along side me or led the way. I would be curious to see if others are guest blogging and appearing on podcasts and how you have found them.
  6. Congratulations! Writing a memoir was such a healing journey for me as I reflected over my life. The journaling process allowed me to become my authentic self.
  7. I appreciate all of you who are willing to share your journeys. I finished writing my book this spring and sent it to an editor. It was clearly outsourced to someone who did not have a handle on the English language. The edit came back with changes that completely altered my story, names were given to people in my story and judgment statements were also added at the end of sentences. I had no idea what to expect since it was my first book, but I knew that this was not acceptable. When I wrote my book it came from the heart and I knew it would need a good edit so I continued to search for an editor that would be a fit for me. I found another editor and I just received the edit back from this second editor last week. While I know this one is a good edit, I also know it is hard to see all of the changes that need to be made.
  8. Welcome to the group. I also am new here and have found it a friendly and encouraging group. I have always wanted to write a book, but it wasn't until I was very ill that I learned to listen to the still small voice. It was out of this experience that my book was written.
  9. I am happy to have found this website. After falling through the cracks in the medical community I was told over the phone I had cancer and should get to the emergency room immediately because it was so far advanced. I have written a book, which is currently at the editor, and also have a website to share my story. My journey is one of not only physical healing but spiritual healing as well. Through the process I have learned to become my authentic self and listen to the still small voice. My mission is to share my story with the hope of helping other people to know they have options, and can choose what is right for themselves, to set their own goals and visualize both physical and spiritual healing.
